The Vault of Errors writing workshop with Lyn Yeowart 2026

Award-winning (and locally grown!) author, editor and writing teacher, Lyn Yeowart, is about to open her Vault of Errors at Pages HQ and reveal the mistakes she made early on in her writing career – so you don’t!

Focusing on five key principles that will take your manuscript to the next level (along with plenty of bonus tips), this presentation and workshop is ideal for beginning and emerging writers. Whether you want to write your family history, a page-turning thriller, or a literary masterpiece, these principles will help you develop a work that tells a compelling and insightful story that people will enjoy reading.

Lyn grew up on a farm in Drouin South and attended Drouin High School before heading off to uni. Her mother founded Annflora Florist way back in 1970 – a local business that’s still thriving!

She’s a passionate and energetic trainer, who holds a Bachelor of Education, a Post-graduate Diploma in Creative Writing and a Masters in Creative Writing. As well as writing novels, she works with emerging and established authors (including as a mentor with the literary journal Kill Your Darlings), providing editing and consulting services on works-in-progress, and edits and writes a broad range of materials across corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors.

Her debut novel, The Silent Listener, won the 2022 Indie Book Award for best debut fiction in Australia, was shortlisted for three other national awards, long-listed for the Australian Historical Novel prize, was a finalist in the UK People’s Book Award, and has been translated into French and Russian. Screen adaptation rights were snapped up quickly and it is currently being developed into a television series.

Her second novel, The Hollow Girl, has been listed in reviewers’ best books of 2025, and is a complex multi-layered murder mystery that centres on the real-life experiences of unmarried mothers in Australia who had their newborn infants removed for adoption.
