SLBF 2026
Friday, October 16 - 17, 2026
6:30 PM - 6:00 PM
The Mountain West’s gathering of authors, readers, and the books that bring them together.
October 16–17, 2026 | Downtown Salt Lake City
The Prologue: Friday, October 16 at the Downtown Public Library
Festival: Saturday, October 17 at The Gateway
Every great story starts with a beginning, and the Salt Lake Book Festival is ready to turn the page on its very first chapter.
Join us October 16–17, 2026 for two days celebrating books, storytelling, and our salty city. The festival kicks off Friday night, October 16, with The Prologue hosted at the Downtown Public Library, followed by a full day at The Gateway on Saturday, October 17.
Saturday’s festival brings together authors, readers, writers, publishers, and curious minds for a full day of author conversations, lively panel discussions, live music, and more than 50 local vendors. Expect an analog-focused marketplace alongside Fisher brews, flash tatts, DIY up-cycled screen printing, and plenty of ways to engage with something new.
With programming for adults, young readers, and everyone in between, the Salt Lake Book Festival is for the person who reads a book every week and the person who keeps meaning to start. However often you pick up a book, you belong here.
