Falling for a Knight

Once upon a time, on a balmy Halloween night, a zombie and a witch walk into a bar.

There isn’t a punchline because it isn’t a joke.

There’s no Prince Charming because it isn’t a fairy tale.

But there is a zombie in bloody doctor’s scrubs and he becomes my knight when I turn into the damsel in distress.

He whisks me away to his castle in the treetops and promises me everything. Our families and friends will judge us.

But if it’s only one night, no one needs to know.

But on this Halloween night, there might be more at stake than just our hearts. A w(b)itch like me, can never be worthy of a Knight like him.
