Feathers of Change

My parents, Syriah and Lanham James, have led our kind with compassionate hearts and respect for tradition. As the daughter of the leaders of the paranormal world, one a phoenix and one a warlock, my life is no longer my own. It belongs to our followers, to our enemies, to my mate, and to our unborn daughter.

My parents hold all the power. Power that our enemies want for themselves. Their greed may motivate them, but it’s also their weakness. A weakness I will show no mercy in exploiting. If I don't, what sort of future will we have? What sort of life will our daughter inherit?

In the meantime, the hits keep coming from every direction. More bloodshed. More deaths. More betrayal, but I won't stop until I bring it all crashing down. It's time for the past to meet the present, and for that to happen, our reign must end.
