This Thing of Ours

Every 𝙊𝙢𝙚𝙜𝙖 dreams of a 𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙠…I just want to stay alive.

Overnight, my casual hookup turns into a 𝘱𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘰 who leaves me battered and bruised. With no money, my nightmare gets worse when he burns my home and everything I own to the ground.

So, I do what any scared, self-respecting 𝘖𝘮𝘦𝘨𝘢 does, and run. Hiding in a new city with a fresh approach to staying alive, I keep my head down until I get caught in crossfire. When I choose to play Good Samaritan to one man over the other, I stumble into their world.

I don’t get stolen by them, not bought either. They need me to 𝘧𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬 so they can claim back their 𝙢𝙖𝙛𝙞𝙖 𝙘𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣. I need the payout they offer and a place to recover. They agree to wear scent blockers if I wear something for them.

Their whispered promises and lingering touches almost have me believing, but it turns out we’re all 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 some rather large 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘴.

Except the biggest surprise is when Pack De Luca say 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔 has never been fake in their eyes.

Of course, nothing is ever what it seems. The deceit we walk in on is shocking, with far reaching consequences.

But there’s no way I’m letting my past take them away from me. Not when I’ve finally found something worth fighting for.
