Christmas, Off The Record

She came to Ashwood Falls for one cozy Christmas story. The town gives her a guarded sheriff, a rigged Secret Santa, and a choice that could redefine her career.

Travel writer Reagan Hart has thirty days to turn an off-grid Alaskan Christmas into the byline that puts her career back on track. Her assignment does not include a woodstove she cannot operate, a criminally curious moose, or a raccoon who keeps rearranging her belongings.

Sheriff Cole Merritt has spent three years making sure nobody turns his past into a story. Reagan's notebook puts him on alert, even as he keeps rescuing her from frozen trails, icy water, and her own terrible footwear.

Then the town's Secret Santa bowl pairs them together. Between anonymous gifts, forced proximity, and a dog who has already chosen sides, suspicion begins to soften into something neither of them can file away.
