Isla Harrington

I jumped at the chance to spend my summer in Aelros Bay, living on the yacht and exploring the small town that feels like home. I’m supposed to be taking a break from London, from expectations, and from my father.

It’s supposed to be a boring summer.

But I never accounted for him.

Lachlan MacLeod is quiet, guarded, and impossible to ignore. He watches me like he’s trying not to want me, like caring would be a mistake. But when he finally lets me in, he makes me feel more seen than anyone ever has.

He tells me he isn’t a good man. I think he’s wrong.

Until the night his past comes back for him.

Until I realise loving him was never safe.

Until I realise I was never meant to survive his world.

But it’s too late. I’m already his.

Lachlan MacLeod

Men like me don’t get women like Isla Harrington. Not after the things I’ve done. Not after the life I left behind. I came back to Aelros Bay to forget that man, to build something honest. Something my da would be proud of. I only wanted peace after what felt like a lifetime of darkness. I was past the point of being saved.

Then she looked at me like I was worth it.

I should have walked away.

I should have ignored her.

I should have protected her from me.

Instead, I fell in love with her.

And when The Family comes to collect what they believe is theirs, they take the only thing that matters to me.

Her.

Now, I’ll burn every bridge, break every oath, and become the monster I swore I’d never be again.

Because she’s mine.

And I’ll kill anyone who tries to take her from me.
