I had given up on meeting my person, focused on being the protector of the family. Until the day I met her. I felt this pull to her that I couldn’t explain, but she was on the arm of another man. I didn’t think I stood a chance, but I saw the sadness in her eyes. Then I saw the marks and I knew I needed to save her. She was who I had been waiting for, and I’d be damned if I let someone else hurt what’s mine.

All my life I struggled.  I had to protect my sister. It was her and I against the world. Just when I thought life finally turned around, my dream turned into a nightmare. I couldn’t run and I couldn’t escape him if I wanted to keep my sister safe. Then Sebastiano walked into my life. In one handshake, he made me feel safe. He made me feel like there was a way out. But he didn’t know about the monster in my life. The one that wouldn’t let go. I wanted to be his, but the stakes were just too high.
